In the west, the Industriepark Höchst spans the districts of Höchst, Sindlingen and Schwanheim. On 460 hectares, around 20,000 people work for roughly 90 companies in chemicals, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, the largest of which is Sanofi. In the east are the Osthafen with its container terminal and the Fechenheim-Nord/Seckbach industrial and commercial area. Terminal 3 opened at the airport in April 2026, and from 2030 Terminal 2 is due to be refurbished and converted for around 1.5 billion euros. The A3 and A5 meet at the Frankfurter Kreuz, the A66 has the Frankfurt-Höchst and Frankfurt-Miquelallee junctions in the west, and the A661 has Frankfurt-Ost and others in the east. Eight of the nine S-Bahn lines run through the City-Tunnel, and the S8 and S9 connect the Hauptbahnhof and the airport.
