Offenbach am Main borders Frankfurt directly to the west and north. On the Innovationscampus, the former Clariant site, Samson AG and the biotechnology company BioSpring are building new production facilities, and in the Kaiserlei district the KWU towers have been undergoing demolition since May 2026 to make way for a new neighborhood. The A661, the A3 and the S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S8 and S9 connect the city with Frankfurt and the airport.

On the Innovationscampus, the 36-hectare former Clariant site, Samson AG is relocating its headquarters with around 2,000 employees from Frankfurt by the end of 2026, and its electronics production has been running there since October 2025. BioSpring has also been building a production facility for pharmaceutical active ingredients there since July 2025. The Kaiserlei district is home to Hyundai's European and German headquarters and, since March 2026, BYD's German headquarters, and ABG is planning around 1,200 apartments on the A661 after the demolition of the KWU towers. Other commercial areas include Offenbach-Ost, Bieber-Waldhof and the area around Waldstraße, and the new company headquarters of Pan Dacom is to be built at the harbor. The A661 has the Offenbach-Kaiserlei and Offenbach-Taunusring junctions and meets the A3 at the Offenbacher Kreuz. The S-Bahn runs through the City Tunnel beneath the city center and stops at Kaiserlei, Ledermuseum, Marktplatz and Offenbach Ost, among others.
The S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S8 and S9 run from Offenbach through the Frankfurt City Tunnel, with the S8 and S9 continuing to the airport. No S-Bahn stops at Offenbach Hauptbahnhof, which is served by regional trains. By car, the A661 leads directly to Frankfurt via the Kaiserleibrücke.
The A661 has the Offenbach-Kaiserlei and Offenbach-Taunusring junctions. The Offenbacher Kreuz lies within Offenbach city limits, about five kilometers south of Frankfurt city center, and connects the A661 with the A3.
Samson AG is building its new factory there and plans to fully move in by the end of 2026, when around 2,000 employees will relocate from Frankfurt to Offenbach. BioSpring is constructing a production facility for RNA-based active ingredients, with around 200 jobs expected to be created there by the end of 2027. The main access road is planned for 2026, and a new junction with Mühlheimer Straße for 2027.
