Walluf is the easternmost municipality in the Rheingau and borders Wiesbaden directly to the north and east. The B42, which merges into the A66 at the municipal boundary, provides good access to Wiesbaden, Mainz and Frankfurt Airport. There is work in the town itself too: according to municipal figures, more employees commute into Walluf than out of it.
In the north of Niederwalluf, on Martinsthaler Straße, lies the Kressboden industrial estate, which the municipality plans to extend as far as the Wiesbaden city boundary. Companies based in the town include Van Hees, a manufacturer of spices, marinades and quality additives, the electric motor manufacturer Engel ElektroMotoren and the pigment manufacturer Oxerra, which produces in Walluf. The B42 links Walluf with Wiesbaden and Rüdesheim along the Rhine and merges into the A66 at the eastern municipal boundary. At the Schiersteiner Kreuz, the A66 meets the A643, which is part of the Mainz motorway ring. The RheingauLinie RB10 stops at Niederwalluf station and runs via Wiesbaden Hbf, Mainz-Kastel and Frankfurt-Höchst to Frankfurt Hbf.
Walluf borders the Wiesbaden districts of Frauenstein and Schierstein. The municipality gives the distance to Wiesbaden as around 10 kilometres or 12 to 15 minutes, and to Mainz as around 20 kilometres. Towards Mainz, you take the A66 and then the A643 at the Schiersteiner Kreuz.
The municipality gives the distance as around 30 kilometres to the airport and around 40 kilometres to Frankfurt. The route runs along the A66 to the Wiesbadener Kreuz, then onto the A3 as far as the Kelsterbach exit at the airport.
Yes. The RheingauLinie RB10 stops at Niederwalluf station at least once an hour and runs via Wiesbaden Hbf to Frankfurt Hbf. Due to the renovation of the right-bank Rhine line, trains between Wiesbaden and Neuwied are cancelled until 12 December 2026, and replacement buses run during this period. In addition, ESWE bus line 5 connects Walluf with Wiesbaden-Schierstein and Wiesbaden main station.
